June 21, 2013—The Atlanta I-CAR Volunteer Committee recently raised more than $23,000 for the Collision Repair Education Foundation during its fourth annual golf fundraiser in Waleska, Ga.

“I would like to thank our many industry supporters, as well as our outstanding committee volunteers, for coming together for such a great cause,” said Gerry Poirier, national APD manager for Farmers Insurance Co. and chairman of the Atlanta I-CAR Volunteer Committee. “The ability to raise these funds for the support of the collision education programs right here in Georgia truly shows what a great industry we are part of.”

The Education Foundation said the funds raised during the event will be invested to provide student grants and scholarships at collision school programs specifically in the Atlanta market.

“Being able to attend and volunteer at this event, I was able to see first-hand the incredible work that this I-CAR volunteer committee is able to accomplish by working together and helping to raise additional funds for their local collision school programs,” said Brandon Eckenrode, director of development for the Education Foundation. “This event was so well put together that I was taking notes on what the Education Foundation could mimic at our national golf fundraiser each summer. Congratulations to the group.”
