I-CAR Industry Veteran Johnny Dickerson Passes Away

April 3, 2015

April 3, 2015—Johnny Dickerson, a long-time collision repair industry professional and nationally recognized welding expert, passed away unexpectedly in Nashville last weekend.

As an early supporter of I-CAR, Dickerson became an I-CAR instructor more than three decades ago.

For the past 10 years, Dickerson worked full time as a member of the I-CAR Field Operations team, most recently as performance training coordinator.

Dickerson helped lead efforts to shift I-CAR's welding training and certification courses to an in-shop event and provided training and mentoring for every I-CAR welding instructor.

Training and mentoring every I-CAR Welding Instructor, and always providing quiet, calm, and knowledgeable support to those in need.

"Dickerson earned the respect of the entire collision repair industry," I-CAR said in a press release. "Always cheerful and always available, Dickerson will be missed by I-CAR and the entire collision repair community."

Dickerson is survived by his wife, Mary, their two sons and grandsons.
