I-CAR Hits Milestone, Donates to Education Foundation

April 7, 2014

April 7, 2014—I-CAR recently taught its 10 millionth student credit hour and, in 2014, will begin a new initiative to support the Collision Repair Education Foundation, I-CAR announced on Friday.

I-CAR reached the credit-hour milestone at the end of March, something its CEO and president John Van Alstyne attributes to the industry’s increased focus on training.

“Our 10 millionth credit hour represents the hard work and dedication that collision repair professionals put into their work every day,” Van Alstyne says. “Through ongoing role-relevant training, our vision is that every person in the collision repair industry has the knowledge, education and solutions required to perform complete and safe repairs—for the ultimate benefit of the consumer.”

In 2014, I-CAR will set aside $1 for every I-CAR class attended by a student and donate the money to the Education Foundation. This year, that has resulted in a $170,000 donation, made by I-CAR on behalf of the inter-industry.
