Allstate Rescinds Parts Discount Mandate

Order Reprints

Jan. 29, 2014—Allstate has rescinded its mandate requiring all repair facilities to offer discounts to its insurance customers, according to Wednesday's announcement from the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Illinois (AASPI).

The requirement remains for Allstate’s direct repair program shops.

According to the AASPI, Allstate received backlash from independent repair shops that began requiring their customers to pay the difference between the discounted amount Allstate would pay and the price on the shop’s invoice.
