Summit Software, Houston Digital Terminate Relationship

Nov. 4, 2013

Nov. 4, 2013—Houston Digital Corporation (HDC), a management software provider, announced Friday the termination of its business relationship with Summit Software Solutions.

HDC said that an arbitrator awarded monetary damages and allowed termination of the agreement with Frank Terlep and his company, Summit Software Solutions, that allowed Summit to market, sell and promote HDC products and services, including the Summit Collision Repair System.

The agreement was terminated as of Sept. 19, 2013.

HDC said it is committed to the Summit line of products and will continue to provide support and software upgrades to Summit software users.

Kreg Jetsel, president of HDC, said the only noticeable change will be the billing company name and address.

In a letter to customers explaining the termination, HDC said that monthly subscriptions will not automatically renew with Summit and users will be contacted by HDC regarding renewal.

Terlep said he will continue to focus on Summit Marketing Solutions’ digital marketing division, e-Marketing Sherpas.

“This decision does not prevent me from developing a new system or working with other organizations to help them design and develop a next-generation shop management system.” Terlep said. “Going forward, our focus will be on Summit Marketing Sherpas to help auto body and repair shops capture, service and retain more customers, revenue and profit.”
