August 23, 2010—The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) began its transition from paper and pencil testing procedures to computer-based certifications, and announced Prometric—a testing solutions provider—as its new partner in doing so.
These tests aim to improve the quality of the automotive repair and service industry by providing certifications for technicians and parts specialists, according to an ASE press release_notes. The new computer-based tests will be a more technologically advanced testing method.
“We are pleased to announce our new partnership with Prometric,” said Tim Zilke, president and CEO of ASE. “We’ve been working extremely hard to find the right testing partner…Working closely with Prometric will allow us to make a number of significant enhancements to our testing program as we move toward an all-computer format.”
