Orlando, Fla., Oct. 7, 2011—LKQ Corp. on Friday announced it partnered with the Women's Industry Network (WIN) to sponsor Tools for Success, an event that will give a group of 150 Girl Scouts an opportunity to learn more about the automotive industry during the NACE Expo in Orlando, Fla.
The Girl Scouts will tour exhibitor booths at NACE. The Girl Scouts will also attend a luncheon where they can ask questions to a panel of speakers that include some of the auto industry's leading women, according to LKQ. Eileen Sottile, vice president of government affairs for LKQ, will moderate the discussion.
The event will be held Oct. 8 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
"It's important for these young girls to see that there are truly exceptional opportunities open to women in the automotive business,” Sottile said. "Sitting in the audience may be a future female executive who otherwise never would have even considered a career in this industry."
"LKQ is a company that celebrates diversity and looks to create outstanding opportunities for all of its employees," said Rob Wagman, CEO of LKQ Corp. “I am extremely proud of the hardworking women and men from all walks of life who every day bring unique perspectives and new ideas to LKQ that make our company better."
