DEG reopens inquiry process

March 25, 2011

March 25, 2011 — The Database Enhancement Gateway (DEG) recently lifted its suspension of new inquiries, which was in place as the project transitioned to a new administrator.

Arthur Harris, a 23-year veteran of the automotive industry, was hired earlier this month to fill that role. He will serve as an independent contractor as he administers the project, oversees its website and interacts with information providers and estimating end-users.

“At the DEG we recognize the value that you, the end-user, provide in promoting more accurate data and want to thank you for your patience during our brief transition,” said the DEG Joint Operating Committee in a letter to users. “We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and look forward to working with you as we move forward.”

The DEG is an initiative that enables users of estimating databases to send feedback to information providers. It was created and is maintained by the Automotive Service Association (ASA), Alliance of Automotive Service Providers (AASP) and the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS).

Questions or comments should be directed to Harris at admin@dgweb.org or 302.423.0207. For more information on the DEG, go to degweb.org.
