Poll: 57% support NTSB’s ban on personal electronic devices

Dec. 15, 2011—According to a poll released Thursday by SodaHead.com, an online opinion-based forum, 57 percent of respondents support the National Transportation Safety Board’s (NTSB) recent safety recommendation to ban the use of personal electronic devices (PEDs) while drivers are operating a motor vehicle.

The poll revealed that 61 percent of females and 54 percent of males are in favor of the ban.

Poll respondents ages 65 and older have the highest support for the ban with 78 percent in favor. Poll respondents between the ages of 25 and 37 have the lowest support for the ban with 47 percent in favor, according to SodaHead.com.
