March 9, 2010

March 9, 2010—Mitchell International Inc. and LexisNexis Claims Solutions announced a partnership Monday to address the challenges faced by property casualty insurers associated with handling severe auto injury and special needs claims situations.

Challenges for property casualty insurers include increasing medical costs and regulation, high adjuster caseloads, claims litigation, a decreasing adjuster workforce and insurance fraud.

San Diego-based Mitchell International and Dayton, Ohio-based LexisNexis will provide insurers with approaches for efficient claims handling, and to achieve value from specialized claims handling resources while controlling indemnity and loss adjustment expense.

The objective is to anticipate and manage claims severity, potential fraud and recovery opportunities earlier and more accurately in the claims process.

“By blending the strengths of Mitchell and LexisNexis Claims Solutions, we will enhance the claims process with a fundamentally new approach to exposure management,” said Ernie Feirer, LexisNexis Claims Solutions vice president and general manager. “Insurers will benefit from increased clarity and insight, enabling them to mitigate costs and improve operational profitability.”
