Feb. 9, 2012—Lehman’s Garage, a six-shop collision repair operation based in Minneapolis, recently named Rick Cossette as the new president of the company.
Cossette officially took over as president of Lehman’s Garage Jan. 15. He succeeds Darrell Amberson, who served as the company’s president for 13 years. Amberson said he will work as a consultant to Cossette through July to help make the transition.
“Rick is a great person. I know he has good things in his heart, and he will do a great job as leader of the organization,” Amberson said.
Amberson, 58, said he does not yet have plans for the future. But he does not plan to retire.
“I enjoy my trade association work, and I enjoy interacting with people in the industry. I want to continue doing that,” Amberson said. “I am passionate about the industry, and am enthused about all sorts of possibilities in the future.”
Amberson is the chairman-elect of the Automotive Service Association (ASA). Amberson said he will officially take over as chairman of the ASA in May, and plans to remain active with that role.
“Lehman’s has been an incredible experience,” Amberson said. “I’ve been blessed with opportunities that I never would have envisioned during my time with the organization.”
