Order Reprints

July 5, 2013—Mitchell International recently announced agreements with several auto manufacturers to incorporate VIN-specific OEM build sheet data into its VIN decoder total loss and repair estimating solutions.

Mitchell’s updated VIN decoder with OEM build sheet data now automatically selects both optional and standard equipment when repairers and appraisers evaluate total loss and repair issues. Mitchell will use the options data to automatically qualify parts selected on an estimate to help estimators order the right parts the first time.

Under Mitchell’s new agreements, the company has added OEM build sheet data for several General Motors, Chrysler, Nissan and Mazda vehicle makes, including Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, GMC, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Fiat and Infiniti. Mitchell said those vehicle makes account for 44 percent of all Mitchell estimates.

Jim Brady, vice president of product management platform services for Mitchell, said the company will be adding more vehicle brand partnerships throughout 2013.
