I-CAR Honors Three Industry Pros with Awards

July 25, 2013, BOSTON—I-CAR on Wednesday presented three awards to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to advancing the training and professionalism of the collision repair industry at an awards luncheon during the 2013 I-CAR Inter-Industry Conference in Boston.

The collision repair professionals recognized with awards include:

– Tom Moreland, recipient of the Chairman’s Award
– Ron Vincenzi of Oakland Auto Body, recipient of the Russ Verona Memorial Award
– Mike Loy, recipient of the Jeff Silver Award

I-CAR’s 2013 Inter-Industry Conference, based on the changing landscape of automotive technology, included several technology-focused speakers and panel discussions. The speakers—who included representatives from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), Center for Automotive Research (CAR), and Robert Bosch LLC—shared insight on advanced emerging vehicle technologies and enhancements in integrated safety systems.

In addition, keynote speakers Reginald Modlin, director of regulatory affairs for the Chrysler Group, and Lawrence Geise, vice president of automobile frame design, research and testing for Honda R&D Americas Inc., discussed new regulations impacting OEM vehicle designs, as well as chassis and body structure innovations for fuel safety and economy.

I-CAR’s 2014 Inter-Industry Conference is scheduled to take place July 30 during the inaugural Industry Week 2014 in Detroit—a weeklong event that will also include NACE, Collision Industry Conference (CIC) and Collision Repair Education Foundation golf outing.
