NABC golf fundraiser returns to Palm Springs Jan. 11
Aug. 17, 2011 — The National Auto Body Council (NABC) will once again host its annual golf fundraiser at Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort in Palm Springs, Calif., the organization announced Tuesday.
The event is set for Jan. 11 and is held in conjunction with the NABC’s open board meeting scheduled for the previous day. The organization said the golf fundraiser is a major source of funding that helps implement programs and activities that support its mission of improving the image of collision industry professionals. The fundraiser also helps reduce the cost of those programs for participants.
The event is open to individuals and teams and will be played in a four-person scramble format. Breakfast will be offered before the 10 a.m. start and the event will end with a buffet reception, awards ceremony and prize drawings.
“As this event is the one and only fundraiser for the National Auto Body Council, we are excited that the new start time will allow for an entire day at the course,” said David Merrell of CSi Complete, who with Domenic Brusco of PPG is the NABC fundraising committee co‐chair. “Without this event and the industry’s support we could not continue the mission and vision of the NABC.”
Before golf starts, the NABC will give away a vehicle to a family in need or organization dedicated to assisting others. The gifting presentation is part of the NABC’s Recycled Rides program.
“Recycled Rides is indicative of the kind of industry‐enhancing initiative our golf outing makes possible,” said NABC Executive Director Chuck Sulkala. “This is the kind of fundraiser that demonstrates how much fun contributing to a good cause can be, which makes it very special. We appreciate the participation of all, and encourage early registration. You won’t want to be left out!”
