SCRS, First Data Partner to Save Shops Money

Oct. 17, 2013

Oct. 17, 2013—The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) announced Wednesday a new initiative to help its membership better understand and save money on its credit card processing fee agreements.

The program was created through the organization's partnership with First Data Corporation, which has agreed to award a $200 credit toward SCRS membership dues for businesses that open a new merchant processing account with First Data.

"Since switching to First Data we have saved approximately 44 percent on our credit card processing fees," said SCRS member Nichole Hubbard of European Motor Car Works Inc. "During our rate comparison, the representative from First Data was extremely pleasant and willing show me how to read the merchant statements so that I could see where I was losing money. He was very professional and extremely helpful throughout the entire process."

The SCRS program with First Data is designed so that all-sized businesses will receive low merchant processing rates and strong support.

First Data representatives will be at the SCRS booth at the SEMA Show, Nov. 5-8 in Las Vegas, to explain how businesses can save money by switching their payment processing to First Data. Also, collision businesses who join SCRS during the SEMA Show will receive complimentary membership for the remainder of 2013, receiving 14 months of membership for the price of 12.
