AASP/NJ goes greener with New Jersey program

Sept. 30, 2010

September 30, 2010—The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers New Jersey (AASP/NJ) announced its partnership with the New Jersey Green Automotive Repair Program (NJGARP).

NJGARP began in April 2009 and encourages New Jersey’s repair shops to implement environmentally friendly business practices and become “green” certified businesses, according to AASP/NJ.

Repair facilities are evaluated with an industry-specific checklist of "green" initiatives they can implement. Including:

• Pollution prevention and resource conservation measures;
• Waste fluids management;
• Energy and water conservation efforts;
• Waste water reduction;
• Recycling practices;
• Protection of customers and workers at the facility.

“AASP/NJ is extremely proud to be the newest partner association in NJGARP,” said Charles Bryant, AASP/NJ executive director. “NJGARP has already made great strides in the time it’s been in place, and we are excited to now be moving forward with them to help shops across the state become ‘green’ certified facilities.”
