Nov. 14, 2013—Toyota announced Thursday that it will unveil a new “Distracted Awareness Research Vehicle” at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Toyota will hold a press conference from the show on Nov. 20 at 3:40 p.m. to announce the project, which the company hopes will help “reduce driver distraction before ever putting a key in the ignition.” More details will be announced at that time.

Also at the news conference, Chuck Gulash, director of Toyota’s Collaborative Safety Research Center (CSRC) will discuss research findings from a joint parnership between Toyota and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), as well as information from a study Toyota performed with Stanford University.
