FinishMaster Acquires Two Industry Suppliers

Jan. 15, 2013—FinishMaster Inc., a national distributor of automotive paints, coatings and accessories, on Tuesday announced the acquisition of two suppliers to the collision repair industry.

FinishMaster acquired the assets of Mid-State Automotive Paint and Body Shop Supply Inc. based in Ewing, N.J., as well as the assets of Central Paint and Car Specialty based in Ukiah, Calif.

FinishMaster’s acquisition of Mid-State Automotive Paint and Body Shop Supply Inc., which has operated for 32 years, was finalized Dec. 28. The company’s acquisition of Central Paint and Car Specialty, which has supplied the industry for more than 20 years, was finalized Jan. 7.

Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

“These acquisitions expand our footprint in the New Jersey and California markets giving us the ability to better serve our customers", said Steve Arndt, president and chief operating officer of FinishMaster.

FinishMaster said it currently operates five other locations in New Jersey and 29 in California. The Indianapolis-based company now operates three major distribution centers and 165 branches in 25 metropolitan markets throughout the U.S.
