Washington CARSTAR Shops Donate Van to Local Veteran Family

Nov. 21, 2013

Nov. 21, 2013—The 21-location Puget Sound CARSTAR group presented U.S. Army combat veterans Craig and Maria Sotebeer with a 2002 Ford Windstar van on Wednesday at Hi Tech CARSTAR Collision Center in Spanaway, Wash.

The Sotebeers both served in Iraq as medics. Craig is a disabled veteran and has a “V” device. He earned a Purple Heart and bronze star for his service.

Their family, including their 8-month-old son, recently had to get rid of their car, which was vital in getting Craig to his appointments to continue his recovery.

“When we heard about Craig and Maria Sotebeer’s situation there was no doubt we needed to do what we could to help them. We repair and restore cars every day and giving this car to Craig and Maria seemed like the right thing to do, and we are so happy we are able to give this to them just in time for Thanksgiving,” said Todd Miller from Puget Sound CARSTAR Group.
