SCRS Adds Panel to RDE Series

Oct. 9, 2013

Oct. 9, 2013—The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) has added a new panel, “If I Knew Then What I Know Now—Lessons Learned Selling My Body Shop,” to the Repairer Driven Education (RDE) series to take place from 3–5 p.m. on Nov. 7 as part of the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

The panel is designed to help advise shop owners who are considering selling their shop to a national multi-shop operator (MSO).

The panel consists of Aaron Clark, Pat O’Neill, Dan Bailey and Mike Anderson—all previous owners of collision repair shops that sold their businesses to ABRA Auto Body & Glass, Caliber Collision Centers, CARSTAR and Pohanka Collision Centers, respectively.

"There is a great deal of combined knowledge that will be offering firsthand insight into how to navigate the process of valuing and selling your business," SCRS executive director Aaron Schulenburg said. "That said, it is very important to point out that we have a great deal of optimism that independent collision repair owners can thrive in today's marketplace as well, and have also defined specific programs that address solutions for them also."
