Education Foundation golf event raises $55,000
Sept. 12, 2012—The Collision Repair Education Foundation raised $55,000 during its 11th annual golf fundraiser, which took place in San Antonio in July.
The Education Foundation said all of the funds raised will be used to support its upcoming scholarships and grants for collision repair schools and students.
“Since 2009 when PPG Automotive Refinish came onboard as the co-host sponsor of this industry fundraiser, over $160,000 in total has been raised for collision student scholarships and school grants. Each year the event gets better and better, and this is through the industry coming together to support a worthwhile cause,” said Clark Plucinski, executive director of the Education Foundation. “We thank our attendees, event sponsors and our co-host PPG Automotive Refinish. We look forward to seeing everyone again in Boston next July.”
“PPG is privileged to support the industry’s future through events of this kind,” said Domenic Brusco, senior manager of industry relations for PPG Automotive Refinish. “This is the third consecutive year we’ve co-hosted the Collision Repair Education Foundation’s industry fundraiser, and it’s rewarding to see more funds raised each year to assist collision students with their educational opportunities. This is a great display of how the industry can come together to support its upcoming workforce.”
