LAS VEGAS, Oct. 16, 2013—Remote vehicle diagnostics provider Collision Diagnostic Services (CDS), an affiliate of Automotive Electronic Solutions, recently completed a software update for its astech device to include diagnostic coverage for 2008–2014 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicle models, the company announced Wednesday during NACE.
CDS’ astech device is an Internet-based vehicle diagnostic system that allows collision repair shops to gain access to a certified master technician who uses OE-specific scan tools to remotely scan vehicles for fault codes. CDS said the new update is automatic and free of charge for astech users.
“As vehicle diagnostic networks continue to evolve, so does the astech technology,” said Walt McIntyre, chief operating officer of CDS. “Our team has been working for months to further expand into Ford vehicles and we are pleased to provide this expanded service to the industry.”
The astech device is being demonstrated this week at NACE during the event’s Scan Tool Demo and I-CAR Technology Showcase.
