Jan. 13, 2011

Jan. 13, 2011 — One of Canada’s largest insurance companies chose San Diego-based Mitchell International to provide real-time collision repair reference data to its collision centers, Mitchell announced this week.

Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI), which provides compulsory vehicle insurance coverage across Manitoba, will use Mitchell TechAdvisor, a searchable database of vehicle repair reference data going back 30 years.

“By leveraging Mitchell's comprehensive repair data and up-to-date parts prices, our estimators will have all the necessary information at their fingertips to make data driven, accurate estimating decisions in a timely manner," said Ted Hlynsky, vice president of claims control and safety operations for MPI.

Mike Jerry, vice president and general manager for Mitchell’s Canadian operations, said today’s high-tech vehicles require repairers to have immediate access to repair information. He said MPI’s decision demonstrates the insurer’s “commitment to the new world of claims processing.”

Mitchell provides information and workflow solutions to the property and casualty claims industry as well as the collision repair industry. The company enables millions of electronic transactions each month between 30,000 business partners.
