May 18, 2020—Daimler will idle a Mercedes-Benz plant in Alabama because of a parts shortage, reported Reuters.

Other automakers told Reuters that if Mexico does not resume parts production, they will be forced to quickly idle U.S. assembly plants.

Mercedes-Benz plans to make up the production during a scheduled off week this summer.
