May 2, 2013—Nissan North America on Thursday announced the launch of a factory-sponsored towing service to Nissan Certified Collision Repair facilities.

Nissan said the purpose of the towing program is to ensure Nissan vehicle owners receive repairs that meet the company’s standards after a wreck. Nissan owners can call a toll-free phone number, 1-800-Nissan-1, to initiate the towing service following an auto accident. The vehicle will be transported to any Nissan Certified Collision Repair facility within a 50-mile radius.

The towing service is free for both the vehicle owner and the collision repair shop, Nissan said.

“High quality collision repair shops no longer need to wait for Nissan owners to find them. With Nissan Certified Collision Repair facilities, Nissan North America will deliver vehicle owners directly to the shop door,” the company said in a press release_notes. “The process is designed to be seamless for both the Nissan owner and the collision shop, reinforcing the positive Nissan customer experience.”

Nissan said becoming a Nissan Certified Collision Repair facility offers key marketing advantages for collision shops. Repairers are able to display Nissan signage in order to set their facility apart from the competition, and build customer trust and loyalty.

In addition, Nissan said certified shops have direct access to OEM technical information, specifications, resources and tools to ensure consistent and quality repairs.
