Oct. 16, 2019—Volvo has announced the launch of its new brand, "Recharge" for its electric vehicles along with its plan to reduce emissions across the company, according to a report by Electrek.

Volvo aims to be carbon neutral by 2040. Short-term ambitions include a 25 percent reduction of CO2 emissions related to its global supply chain by 2025, a 25 percent share of recycled plastics in new Volvo cars by that same year, and a 25 percent reduction of carbon emissions generated by the company's overall operations.

Previously, Volvo announced all new cars will have an electric motor (i.e. HEV, PHEV, BEV).
