Volvo Launches New Recharge Brand

Volvo has announced the launch of its new brand of electric vehicles in addition to a plan to reduce emissions.

Oct. 16, 2019—Volvo has announced the launch of its new brand, "Recharge" for its electric vehicles along with its plan to reduce emissions across the company, according to a report by Electrek.

Volvo aims to be carbon neutral by 2040. Short-term ambitions include a 25 percent reduction of CO2 emissions related to its global supply chain by 2025, a 25 percent share of recycled plastics in new Volvo cars by that same year, and a 25 percent reduction of carbon emissions generated by the company's overall operations.

Previously, Volvo announced all new cars will have an electric motor (i.e. HEV, PHEV, BEV).
