Gerber Acquires Lefler Collision

Lefler Collision & Glass has been acquired by a top consolidator.

Sept. 6, 2019—Gerber Collision has acquired Lefler Collision & Glass, effective Friday, according to a post on the Lefler Facebook page.

Lefler Collision & Glass Repair has four locations in the Evansville, Ind. area. Jimmy Lefler, owner of Lefler Collision & Glass Repair, has a staff of 70 with an annual total combined revenue of $12 million.

The Facebook post read as follows:

"After 67 years of serving the Tri-State as Lefler Collision & Glass Repair Centers, our organization has been acquired by Gerber Collision & Glass. The collision repair industry is rapidly evolving and this opportunity will ensure the most secure future for the Lefler Collision team members and will provide them additional advancement opportunities.

"While our name will be changing, the mission of superior customer service, dedication to safe and proper repairs, and supporting our team that operates as family, will not. Please continue to support those at our locations as they will continue to be the friendly faces you have known for years, both inside the repair centers and within the community."

“I am excited for the opportunities and benefits that Gerber brings to our team," said Lefler. "Gerber is the perfect fit because they have the same core values and care for both the team and our community."

In 1952, Leroy Lefler started Leroy’s Paint and Fender Repair. Three generations of Leflers have been serving the Evansville tri-state for more than a half century.

Jimmy Lefler, a former FenderBender Awards winner, has, in recent years, become known for his charitable efforts both locally and internationally.

Lefler, as well as COO Ed Dietz and CMO Megan Williams, will stay on for 30 days to assist with the transition and serve as consultants. Williams tld FenderBender that all three intend to stay in the industry. 

Gerber Collision & Glass has over 400 repair center locations in 27 states in the U.S.  and in five Canadian provinces.
