Nov. 13, 2013—The National Auto Body Council (NABC), in partnership with Recycled Rides, donated four newly refurbished cars to four local families in the Las Vegas area during the 2013 SEMA Show last week.
The families were selected by Family Promise of Las Vegas, which helps homeless and low-income families transition from homelessness to stability and independence. In addition, Family Promise received a 15-passenger van donated by Enterprise Rent-a-Car and repaired by Gerber Collision in a surprise presentation.
“Family Promise of Las Vegas does a wonderful job of helping so many families regain stability. We recognize that owning a car they can count on could be the key to regaining both their financial well-being and their self-respect,” said Chuck Sulkala, executive director of NABC. “Recycled Rides is a wonderful program that enables so many of us in the collision repair industry to partner with our colleagues and make a positive impact in people’s lives.”
The multi-car gifting ceremony took place at the Las Vegas Convention Center during SEMA, and included Enterprise Rent-A-Car, State Farm Insurance, Allstate Insurance Company, Esurance and Hertz, which donated vehicles refurbished by Gerber Collision, Caliber Collision, Sterling Auto Body Centers and Collision Authority.
