Honda Approves Higher-Strength Welding Wires

The announcement gives repairers three approved options for use in Honda vehicles. 

June 17, 2019—Honda has approved two new additional high-strength steel welding wires

The wires are:

  • Titan Technology EQ-5029X96 
  • Washington Alloy Eagle-Arc 980X

The announcement gives repairers three approved options for use in Honda vehicles. All three options have a wire size of 0.8 mm (0.030 inch) in diameter and are used for welding joints in high-strength steel of 590 MPa and higher.
