Mich. GM Plant Receives Millions for Reduced Energy Use

General Motors’ Flint, Mich., assembly plant recently received a $2.8 million check from Consumers Energy, after reducing its energy use.

March 11, 2019—General Motors’ Flint, Mich., assembly plant recently received a $2.8 million check from Consumers Energy, after reducing its energy use.

According to a report by 25 News, the automaker has completed nearly two dozen energy-saving projects since 2018. The projects included a new energy-efficient body shop, along with facility lighting improvements.

In the past decade, GM has received $13.3 million in payments from Consumers Energy for upgrades at its Michigan plants that have reduced energy use.
