FCA to Cut Over 1K Jobs

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles said on Tuesday it will cut nearly 1,400 jobs at an Illinois assembly plant.

Feb. 27, 2019—Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV said on Tuesday it will cut nearly 1,400 jobs at an Illinois assembly plant where it builds the Jeep Cherokee sport utility vehicle, according to a report by Reuters.

The automaker will cut one of three shifts at the Belvidere Assembly plant, starting on May 6. 

Meanwhile, earlier on Tuesday, the company said it would also be investing $4.5 billion in five plants and creating 6,500 jobs in Michigan.
