Wis. Shops Backlogged After Numerous Weather-Related Accidents

Auto body repair shops across the Milwaukee area are facing backlogs of work from increased accidents during winter storms.

Feb. 6, 2019—Auto body repair shops across the Milwaukee, Wis. area are facing backlogs of work from increased accidents during winter storms, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

A storm dumped nearly 10 inches of snow around Milwaukee last week before temperatures dropped. Those body shop backlogs could grow, with snow, freezing rain and sleet forecast into Wednesday morning across metro Milwaukee, according to the report.

Parts deliveries were affected and delayed by the winter storm. Riverside Automotive Service on Milwaukee's east side sold 34 batteries during the cold snap, depleting its stock of popular models.

Debbie Zabel, co-owner of Forest Home CARSTAR Auto Body on Milwaukee's southwest side, said the shop missed deliveries from multiple parts suppliers last week, delaying some repairs.
