NABC donations on the rise for its recycled vehicles program
August 25, 2010—Vehicle donations for the National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) Recycled Rides program are rolling in—especially from insurance companies—and are on track to reaching the NABC’s goal of 150 cars, according to an organization press release_notes.
The cars collected will be refurbished and donated to needy families and charities. Seventy-eight vehicles were given away last year. Insurance companies that have donated include: Allstate, American Family, AMICA, Esurance, GIECO, Progressive, Republic Insurance Group, State Farm, Travelers, USAA and AAA.
“We are very appreciative of the strong response we have received from insurers; their participation is crucial to the success of Recycled Rides,” said Nick Notte, chairman of Recycled Rides and president of Sterling Auto Body. “Many vehicle transformations are already underway, but there remain additional opportunities for insurers and others to donate vehicles.”
The deadline for donations is Nov. 22. Collision shops, insurers, vendors, parts providers and any other company interested in donating can email, firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
