Nov. 2, 2018

The I-CAR Sustaining Partner program brings the collision repair inter-industry together to support training with the goal of ensuring complete, safe, and quality repairs.

Polyvance, manufacturer of plastic repair and refinishing products since 1981, is proud to announce its support of the I-CAR Sustaining Partner program. The I-CAR Sustaining Partner program brings the collision repair inter-industry together to support training with the goal of ensuring complete, safe, and quality repairs.

Plastic repair and refinishing still represents a challenge to many shops since industry practice in the past had been to outsource this function. However, with the advent of nitrogen plastic welding, introduced to the industry by Polyvance in 2006, many shops have recognized and taken advantage of the added labor opportunities offered by plastic repair.

Since 2015, hundreds of shops and over one thousand technicians have taken Polyvance’s line of training courses, most approved for I-CAR continuing education credits as part of their Industry Training Alliance program. Polyvance offers the industry’s only nitrogen plastic welding courses which are part of the I-CAR Industry Training Alliance.

Most popular is the PR-01, a three-hour course taught at the customer’s location for up to three technicians. The PR-02 course is a two-day course taught at Polyvance’s factory in Rainsville, Alabama, which goes into greater depth and includes dent removal, refinishing, and headlight tab repair. The PR-04 is a one-day course at the customer’s location for up to four technicians per session which includes most of the content included in the two-day PR-02.
