Nov. 2, 2018—New industry regulations in Canada are aimed at curtailing the trend of some repair facilities charging exorbitant sums for minor repairs, according to a report.
Change is on the way in the Canadian province of Alberta to make the process of repairing a vehicle more transparent. Customers purchasing a used vehicle will be entitled to full reports documenting the history of a vehicle, according to chatnewstoday.ca.
For customers booking their vehicle for repairs, shops must now provide their estimate in writing if requested and must receive consent before beginning work on any repairs. The new provincial auto regulations will take effect within days.
