State Farm to Lay Off 100 Fla. Employees by Dec.

State Farm will lay off 100 employees working in claims and administrative support at its Jacksonville, Fla., operations.

October 3, 2018—State Farm will layoff 100 employees at its Southside operations center on Nov. 30 in Jacksonville, Fla., reported Jacksonville Business Journal.

Employees that will be laid off work in claims and administrative support. The company will also layoff 59 employees at its Tampa operations center, according to the report. 

In August, the insurance company announced it would be completely shutting down the Jacksonville operations center, which has about 600 employees and at one point employed close to 1,200 workers.

The company plans to leave the facility in 2019.
