September 28, 2018—Ford will build the hybrid-electric F-150 at a historic comple, reported Michigan Live.
Bill Ford, executive chairman, made the comments Thursday, Sept. 27 and said that production on the hybrid-electric best-selling truck would start at the Rouge complex in two years, according to the report.
According to Michigan Live, the production of the hybrid F-150 at the Rouge complex is aided by a $45 million investment in an Advanced Manufacturing Center in Redford, and a $35 million expansion at the UAW-Ford training facility.
Currently, the Rouge complex has 7,500 employees and during its three-crew shift cadence a new F-150 rolls off the line every 53 seconds.
