An amendment to Arizona’s current legislation has been introduced that addresses how insurers and third party administrators should handle auto glass claims.

Jan. 31, 2018—An amendment to Arizona’s current legislation has been introduced by Senator David Farnsworth that addresses how insurers and third party administrators should handle auto glass claims, according to a report from GlassBYTES.

SB 1424 would prevent steering, incentivizing and coercing a customer to use a preferred auto glass shops, according to the report.

The proposal states that the insurer must pay the “insured’s chosen vendor based on a competitive price that is fair and reasonable within the local industry at large,” according to GlassBYTES.

The bill is currently in the Senate.
