Jan. 31, 2018—An amendment to Arizona’s current legislation has been introduced by Senator David Farnsworth that addresses how insurers and third party administrators should handle auto glass claims, according to a report from GlassBYTES.
SB 1424 would prevent steering, incentivizing and coercing a customer to use a preferred auto glass shops, according to the report.
The proposal states that the insurer must pay the “insured’s chosen vendor based on a competitive price that is fair and reasonable within the local industry at large,” according to GlassBYTES.
The bill is currently in the Senate.
