New Corvette to Utilize Aluminum

The 2020 Corvette figures to incorporate high-tech aluminum construction.

Aug. 6, 2019—The 2020 Corvette is expected to feature ample aluminum, according to multiple reports.

In July, the 2020 model of the iconic sports car was unveiled, with a starting price below $60,000. One factor in that mid-range pricing is that the new Corvette will feature high-tech aluminum construction, along with a mid-engine design.

Chevrolet has also promised improved cybersecurity for both the Corvette and all of its lineup of vehicles, according to a report by Motor Authority.

At the aforementioned unveiling, company officials noted that the fact that the Corvette is aluminum, it's composite, and it also features carbon fiber all played a key role in keeping the vehicle's starting price tag around $60,000, approximately.
