LeRoy Owens, Automotive Technology instructor of the South Dade Senior High School, recently shared a message of satisfaction with ShowMeTheParts.com over the school's use of the online catalog.

“We are an ASE/ NATEF certified training program for high school and post secondary students," writes Owens. "I have had great response with the students being able to look up and identify their own parts.”

“We think this is GREAT” says Ron Garand, vice president of ShowMeTheParts.com. “ShowMeTheParts.com has grown from no users a year ago to almost 400,000 unique visitors a month, 3.1 million to date, and being used in schools like this will guarantee success in the future as the mechanics of the future continue at their new jobs with the catalog they are familiar with."

ShowMeTheParts.com provides manufacturers a way to quickly distribute their ACES, PIES and other formatted data to the marketplace, while distributors and their customers get a free catalog.

Company reps say the greatest advantage of ShowMeTheParts.com is the daily updates that assure users always have the latest information available.

Improved profitability by using the catalog is achieved in several ways, according to Vertical Development. Special orders are reduced because of timelier catalog data, allowing the use of items already in stock. Returns are reduced because many parts include images and specifications the user can view before selecting the correct part for their application.

Counterpeople are also using manufacturer Web sites to find the latest product information on their products, and participants in ShowMeTheParts.com have the option of a custom Web application guide for their site with no setup fees, the company adds.
