NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Following a submission of field observations from VeriFacts Automotive LLC’s on-site body shop coaches, the Ford Motor Company has issued sectioning guidelines for the new Mustang that are available at the OEM One Stop TechInfo Site www.oem1stop.com (click on the Ford logo, that takes you to the Ford Motorcraft page, sign-up or log-on and search “Mustang”).

“Our coaches are out visiting shops and our clients have us come in and review the vehicles in their shops,” says VeriFacts Vice President of Operations Mark Claypool. “We have been asked to take a look at the cars that are in the shop while we’re there, and one of our coaches, Peter Vann, was asked to look at a new Mustang with damage so extensive it required cutting out the entire rear end or else the car was being totaled."

Claypool says he felt that top technicians could do the repair without having to replace the entire rear end.

"We took pictures and sent them to Ford and asked, ‘Isn’t there a way to come up with sectioning procedures when these cars are being rear-ended?’ They took that field information and created sectioning guidelines that are available on the [OEM One Stop] Web site.”

Claypool believes a lot of shops don’t even know the OEM One Stop Web site resource exists, and Verifacts would like to spread the word. The one stop page has 35 auto manufacturers listed, and Claypool says it has very good information.

“Ford’s responsiveness is a win for everyone” says Farzam Afshar, president and CEO of VeriFacts. “Fewer of these popular vehicles are being totaled, fewer need highly intrusive repairs, the vehicles are being fixed more quickly and the costs are less. We salute Ford for taking this action so quickly.”
