HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. – All 14 ColorMatch Automotive Refinish Center locations owned and operated by Hub City PBE, a DuPont jobber, have earned the I-CAR Gold Class Professionals designation. In April 2006, ColorMatch/Hub City PBE employees began completing I-CAR training to meet the training initiative. Earning the new designation includes all ColorMatch locations in Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Indiana, Kentucky and Florida, and approximately 81 employees. “As a paint distributor it is important for us to fully understand our customers’ needs,” says Hub City PBE Training and Business Development Manager Tony Nethery. “We also felt it was important to be at the same training standard as the rest of the industry, focusing the majority of employee training on refinishing and some damage analysis.” “I-CAR training is highly regarded in the industry,” states Robert McKenzie Jr., Hub City PBE president. “Earning the Gold Class designation will help employee job performance, as well as their understanding of other aspects of the collision industry. Establishing a training relationship with I-CAR allows for greater communication among all facets of the collision industry.” “I-CAR worked closely with Hub City PBE to achieve this goal,” states I-CAR Field Operations Manager Jeff Peevy. “After a thorough examination it was determined how I-CAR training best applies to each job responsibility – training was then put into place, and the training initiative was met.” The Gold Class Professionals™ program requires 5 points of tested training per employee to qualify, which equates to 20 hours of training per employee.
