Ford CEO Jim Hackett said the Mach-E will feature a new, hands-free driver-assist system that is expected to compete with Tesla's Autopilot and Cadillac's Super Cruise systems.
General Motors will offer hands-free highway driving capability on all of its Cadillac models beginning in 2020. The system is dubbed Super Cruise, and is currently only available on the CT6 luxury sedan.
The potential cancellation would have been of note for the collision repair industry, as General Motors has a patented method for manufacturing the CT6, which includes an industry-exclusive method for welding aluminum with steel.
