The U.S. House of Representatives’ Committee on Financial Services passed a series of six bills designed to reduce federal regulations.  One of those bills was the Federal Insurance Office Reform Act of 2017.

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Dodd-Frank Reform bill by a vote of 258-159, leaving Federal Insurance Office (FIO) intact.
