General Motors, with Cruise, its self-driving vehicle development arm, said its partnering with Honda to speed up the deployment of self-driving cars to major cities next year.
GM has built one of the largest charging stations in the U.S. to get its Cruise self-driving car unity ready to enter the robo-taxi business next year.
Cruise's test fleet of Chevy Bolts run 16 hours each day around most of San Francisco and has already given more than 1,000 rides. It's unclear when self-driving vehicles will hit the mainstream, but Cruise believes it will be months, rather than years, before its tech is offered to consumers.
