July 25, 2011 — The Certified Automotive Parts Association (CAPA) on Monday announced the election of collision repair veteran Clark Plucinski to its board of directors.
Plucinski is the executive vice president of sales and marketing for True2Form, a chain of 43 collision repair shops that was acquired by the Boyd Group in August of 2010. He got his start in the industry in 1970 as a repair technician at a GM dealership and served as co-owner and president of BCP Auto Body Inc., a four-shop operation in the Washington, D.C., area, for most of his career.
Plucinski has served on the boards of numerous organizations including I-CAR, the I-CAR Collision Repair Education Foundation, and Automotive Service Association (ASA) Collision Division Committee. He was also a member of the Washington Metropolitan Auto Body Association. He has received several industry awards throughout his career.
“CAPA is fortunate to have Clark’s expertise and guidance in our unique effort to ensure market access to high quality alternative parts,” said Jack Gillis, executive director of the nonprofit organization. “Our board provides CAPA with a unique insight into issues facing the aftermarket parts industry and has contributed enormously to the nation’s foremost part quality certification program.”
Gillis said CAPA was looking forward to benefiting from Plucinski’s experience and expertise. Plucinski’s belief in the importance of CAPA and the need for high quality alternative parts will help fuel the organization’s success, Gillis said.
