ASE Announces Michael Busch Memorial Scholarship Winners

June 10, 2013—The ASE Industry Education Alliance and the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) Scholarship Fund, on Monday announced the two recipients of the Michael Busch Memorial scholarship.

The Michael Busch Memorial Scholarship fund was created in memory of the son of Jim Busch, a former ASE board member and collision shop owner in Issaquah, Wash. Busch’s son Michael Busch was an automotive technology student who died of cancer.

“The partnership with the Michael Busch Memorial Fund has enabled the GAAS scholarships to help even more students pursue their dream of starting a successful career in the automotive aftermarket,” said Pete Kornafel, chairman of the GAAS Scholarship Selection Committee.

Each of the following scholarship recipients will receive $1,000 toward their automotive education:

– Brian Stevenson of Edmond, Okla.
– Ryan Stenzel of New Richland, Minn.

“We are pleased to support the future of the automotive service industry through the generous scholarship program established to honor the memory of Michael,” said Trish Serratore, president of NATEF. “We congratulate this year’s winners and wish them the best in their careers.”
