Automotive Recyclers Association Names New President

David Gold, executive vice president and president of Fenix Parts Canada, was welcomed as the new president of the Automotive Recyclers Association at the organization’s 74th Annual Convention and Exposition in Dallas.

Nov. 7, 2017—David Gold, executive vice president and president of Fenix Parts Canada, was welcomed as the new president of the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) at the organization’s 74th Annual Convention and Exposition in Dallas.

Prior to his naming as president, Gold served as secretary, second vice president and first vice president of ARA and will now play a leading role in helping guide and shape the Association’s initiatives and direction.

Gold learned the business from the ground up and is a third-generation automotive recycler. From 2004 to 2014, Gold served as president and CEO of Standard Auto Wreckers. in Ontario, Canada. From 1990 to 2004, Gold served as a manager and co-owner of Standard Auto Wreckers.

Given his more than 25 years of industry experience, Gold is a highly respected leader in the professional automotive recycling community in the United States and Canada. Standard Auto Wreckers has been an active member of ARA, the Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association and the Automotive Recyclers of Canada for many years.

A Fenix Parts company, Standard Auto Wreckers has been in business for over 35 years and has locations in Toronto and Ottawa, Ontario as well as in Niagara Falls, N.Y. In 2014, Gold opened a new facility in Port Hope, Ontario. Standard Auto Wreckers specializes in eco-friendly vehicle depollution, dismantling, and the sale of recycled automotive parts.
