Collision Industry Foundation Partners with I-CAR for Volunteer Program

Sept. 16, 2015

Sept. 16, 2015—The Collision Industry Foundation (CIF) announced on Monday that it will work with I-CAR in a volunteer coordination program with a goal to create industry-wide awareness about the efforts of CIF in regards to disaster relief.

The project will be in two phases with multiple presentations and webinars to educate volunteers about CIF and what it does. The first phase will focus on how to identify those in need by the network of volunteers and the second phase is to involve the fundraising aspects, and how to support the organization through donations.

"The CIF is thrilled to have the support of the I-Car Volunteers and will further our cause of supporting our industry professionals in their time of need,” said Bill Shaw, CIF president. “This army of volunteers will help identify needs when a local disaster strikes and will help collect resources in support . This is a significant event in our foundation's history."

"The I-CAR ecosystem includes over 2000 volunteers which are organized by local committees in markets of all sizes across the United States,” said German Mejia, I-CAR national field operations manager. “The collective power of our volunteers' local support provides the collision repair industry with a unique resource to tap into in the event of a natural disaster. I-CAR volunteers continue to demonstrate their passion for this industry by being prepared to help CIF by raising emergency funds and being prepared to offer hands-on support should a situation arise."
