Andrea Brown Receives Woman Veteran Entrepreneur of the Year Award

Aug. 25, 2015—Andrea Brown of Midas Auto Service Experts in Chicago Heights, Ill., will receive the 29th Annual Woman Veteran Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the Women’s Business Development Center (WBDC).

Brown will officially receive the award at a reception on Sept. 1 at the City Winery in Chicago.

Brown, who enlisted in the Army as a way to help pay for her education and served as a pharmacy specialist at Brooke Army Medical Center, found Midas on a list of Fortune 500 companies partnering with the government to give franchise opportunities to veterans. In 2012, she opened Midas Automotive Service in Chicago Heights, becoming the company’s first female military veteran and the first African American female to own a Midas franchise in the United States and Canada.
